Appalachian Christian Academy (ACA) is a Christian school that focuses on developing the child both spiritually and intellectually. It is the purpose of the school to work with the parents in teaching the child that:
· All knowledge and wisdom comes from God.
· A Godly perspective is the only right perspective.
· True education always lines up with Gods Word.
Although ACA is a ministry of the Rural Retreat Pentecostal Holiness Church, we are denominationally neutral in our devotions and chapel services. Our staff is made up of people from different churches (and denominations) who are committed to educating and raising up a generation of Jesus Christ.
ACA uses the Accelerated Christian Education curriculum which is individualized and

Instrumental Instruction
Classes are available for students interested in learning to play a stringed instrument. Students will need to provide their own instrument.
Ministry Bases Activities
Since our goal is to develop child spirituality, as well as intellectually, ACA offers opportunities for the students to be involved in age oriented choral groups and dramas. We also encourage students to take an active part in ministering the community, the nursing homes, and hospitals.
Field Trips
Field trips are taken throughout the school year. Some trips, such as Honor Roll Trips, are for specific students who meet a level of achievement. Some trips are for the entire student body and some for certain grade levels only.
International Student Convention
ISC is five days of competition and church services held on the campus of a college or university. This is a grand event held the last quarter of the school year and is for ages 13 and up only.
The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all that we believe and is therefore binding upon all students. It is not our intent to disprove or argue denominational differences or forms of worship. In our devotions and chapel services, we strive to stay away from the topics of known debate. However, we will not shy away from or water down the gospel of Jesus Christ, the moral values, or the Biblical principles taught by the Scriptures.
ACA is not attached to any denominational doctrine. Our goal is to enhance the students in their relationship with the Lord and other people. ACA is housed at the Rural Retreat Pentecostal Holiness Church in name alone.
